STEREOPONY

stereopony biography and discography

STEREOPONY (ステレオポニー, STEREOPONY?) is a Japanese rock band that formed in Okinawa, Japan in 2008 consisting of NOHANA (Bass Guitar), AIMI (Lead Guitar/Lead Vocals), and SHIHO (Drums). Biography:
Green and vulnerable yet beautiful...
That is how this all-girl rock band from Okinawa, Stereopony would be described. Their major debut single "Hitohira No Hanabira" is TV ending theme song of one of the most successful Japanese anime BLEACH. Their ages averaging 18, a time full of conflicts and pressure concerning love and friendship. That really intense period in life helped mold their pure and straight-foward sound.
An advanced type of nostalgic rock may sound a little strange. However, it truly hits the spot and for kids their age, it portrays their reality. That is Stereopony's world.
Their susceptibility is defined by edgy, wistful but also refreshing at the same time.
Causing a storm within the riotous teenagers with their red-hot rock sound, they will become an agitator leading the way for rock kids!

They have released 3 singles on the Kitty label that were sold exclusively at Tower Records Japan; they have since become available on iTunes in both the US and Japan. However, because Kitty released their singles in such limited quantities, in 2008 they got Sony to sign them onto their Epic Records label. miwa

"Don't cry anymore" is the first song I listened from miwa, it's nice and give motivation/strength to their listener. I like that type of song. :)

miwa is a Japanese pop singer-songwriter. She made her major debut under Sony Music Records in 2010 and is managed by Tristone Entertaiment Inc.

miwa was influenced by music from her father at a young age. When she entered high school with 15, she started writing her own music and learning how to play the guitar. miwa was prohibited from having a job, but she secretly worked to save money and bought her first guitar, a Gibson J-45. Soon, she started performing live shows with a friend at places such as Shimokitazawa Loft and Shibuya 7th floor. Eventually, she was noticed by producer Yamamoto Mataichiro who began coaching her.

Currently, miwa is attending Keio University. Her major debut single, "don't cry anymore", was released under Sony Music Records on March 3, 2010. The title track was used as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama Nakanai to Kimeta Hi, starring Eikura Nana. The single reached #11 on the Oricon weekly chart and sold over 22,000 copies in its chart run of ten weeks.
miwa's second major single, "Little Girl", was released on June 23, 2010. The title track was used as the July 2010 opening theme for TBS show CDTV. The single reached #18 on the Oricon weekly chart. During the summer, miwa performed at the events GIRL POP FACTORY and ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL.
miwa released her third major single on September 1, 2010, titled "chAngE". The title track was used as the twelfth opening theme for the anime BLEACH. The capital "A" and "E" in the single's title represent "acoustic" and "electric" respectively. miwa "chAngEd" her style for this single and set aside her acoustic Gibson J-45 for an electric Gibson Joan Jett Blackheart.

    What is PV?

Maybe that will be first question when people beginning to know and search about J-Music.

PV's are abbreviation from Promotional Video, J-Music always use this term to mention their Video Clip. So, don't be confused about this different term. :)

    ~Hope this will be helpfully.

Tamaki Nami should be no stranger to anime fans, rising to stardom with Believe, the song used in the Japanese animation, Gundam SEED, which got her into the limelight in no time.

Nami was one of the winners of the 18th Annual Japan Gold Disc Award's New Artist of the Year, thus, the term "stardom" should not be used lightly in the first sentence. She definitely has a bright future ahead of her as she is still very young, being born in 1988. She is also backed by Sony, meaning she obviously has an apparent unlimited funding.

Sony sent Nami, along with other Sony artists such as T.M.Revolution, to perform at several anime conventions in 2004. Her songs are generally very upbeat and supported with a strong dance choreography as can be seen from her PVs. Nami's second album Make Progress has claimed the No.1 spot on the Oricon Charts for the daily albums on the first day of its release! Nami's third album, Speciality, was released in July 12th, 2006.

As stated earlier, Tamaki Nami is known for her strong dancing, which has cast doubt on her natural ability as a singer. Many Youtube viewers have expressed concerns over whether her voice is really hers in the recorded tracks. Her live performances, whilst in addition to requiring her to perform choreographed dancing found in her PVs, also require her to sing the entire song. Many viewers have noted that her pitch is off and does not sound like the recorded single. However, fans of hers have dismissed as her being merely breathless from all the dancing, and hence unable to hit the exact note as heard on the pre-recorded single.

    About YUI
Yui (stylized as YUI) (ユイ?, born March 26, 1987 in Fukuoka, Japan) is a Japanese singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actress. She is currently signed to Studioseven Recordings and attached to the talent agency Stardust Promotion and now, she attached to Gr8 recordings.

YUI is a Japanese J-pop/J-rock artist who is born on March 26, 1987 in Fukuoka, Japan. She sings, plays the acoustic guitar, and writes her own songs. Two of her songs, "LIFE" and "Rolling Star," are featured in Bleach, a Japanese anime series, which has brought her some international attention. She released another song called "Again" and is currently used as an opening theme to the new series of Fullmetal Alchemist. So far, her album Can't Buy My Love has managed to sell over 680,000 copies.

You can find YUI fanbase in www.yui-lover.com, and in other forum (especially subforum asian music).
The fans of YUI are ussually called YL (YUI Lover).

    YUI Initial Career:
Her professional career began in March 2004 when at the recommendation of her juku instructors[1] she applied for an audition hosted by Sony Music Japan. Despite the audition rule that a participant could only sing two songs, Yui sang three, with all of the judges gave her the highest score possible and causing a fierce scramble among record labels to sign her. She first sang "Why Me" (a song later included in her major label debut single), followed by "It's Happy Line" and "I Know". Because "I Know" was incomplete at the time, the judges were able to get a glimpse of what would later be dubbed "Yui-go", or Yui-speak (Yui語 in Japanese), nonsensical English hummed to a tune during her songwriting process — an example of Yui-go can be found in the film Midnight Sun when Yui is working on the song "Goodbye Days".
On Christmas Eve of that year, she released her debut single "It's Happy Line" under the indie label Leaflet Records, coupled with the track "I Know". The pressing was limited to only 2,000 copies in her home area

Her first full album, From Me to You, was released February 22, 2006. Among its thirteen tracks, nine of them were previously unreleased, and have been well received from her fans. The album has already reached as high as the weekly ninth most sold album in Japan, with the main track, "TOKYO", reaching the number four spot on the MTV Japan's song charts.

    YUI Biography:
YUI grew up in a fatherless home and, therefore, does not have any memories of her father. She does remember always being close to music, be it from her mother's car stereo or the radio. She would remember the tunes and sing along. By the time she was in elementary school, she thought she would like to become a singer.

During her third year in middle school, following the influence of her mother, YUI began keeping a journal of everyday feelings and poetry. Because of this, by the time she was in high school, she began writing songs. While in high school, she worked a part-time job to help pay for tuition. Always busy, with her time steadily disappearing, she thought there was no longer a road to music. Eventually, her body broke down and she found herself under hospitalization. While in the hospital, with the time to consider her life, she was overwhelmed with the desire to make music. She decided that school and music could not coexist. Upon leaving the hospital she encountered a live street performance and expressed her desire to pursue a musical career to the band, Bianco Nero, at the end of the concert. Bianco Nero recommended YUI that she should join a private music school. Soon, she dropped out of high school and dedicated her time studying songwriting and guitar at a juku in her hometown of Fukuoka.[1] Aspiring to become a professional, she carried her guitar around and sang at local places at the entrance of Tenjin station in Fukuoka. Doing these street performances helped YUI to eventually overcome her shyness.

In March 2003, she sang three songs at an audition hosted by Sony Music Japan, as opposed to the audition rule that a participant could only sing two songs. All judges evaluated her with the highest score, which caused a fierce scramble among labels. She first sang "Why Me", which was later coupled with her debut single, followed by "It's happy line" and "I know", the latter of which was included on her indie single. Sitting cross-legged on the floor, she strummed her guitar and sang. The judges and the others present claimed that "the performance created a tremendous aura from her heavenly voice, and captured the hearts of the whole audience".

Upon leaving her home of Fukuoka for Tokyo, YUI wrote the song "Feel my Soul". She was planning its release on an indie label as a tribute to her hometown, when the song caught the ears of Fuji TV producer Mr. Yamaguchi, who happened to see the demo video clip. He claimed YUI's voice haunted him so much that he went out of his way to visit the recording studio himself. He even made his channel's prime time drama an extraordinary tie-in with YUI's debut track.

Although she is uncomfortable talking to people, she enjoys communicating with her audience at street performances in the Tenjin district of Fukuoka.

YUI also starred in a movie released on June 17, 2006, titled Midnight Sun (in Japanese Taiyō no Uta (タイヨウのうた, song of the sun), which was screened at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.
